The selection of your curtain poles will depend upon the availability of space and the type of curtain that you select. The length of the curtain poles has to be adjusted to the size of the window or the space where curtain is to be hung. Normally ,curtain poles are fitted on the frame of the window or on the wall above the frame. The length of the pole should be such to allow space for finials and to draw curtains to the sides. The curtain poles can be cut to the required size and connected securely. You can also buy extending and angled curtain poles for use on bay windows.

The diameter or thickness of the pole should suit the weight of the curtain. Heavy curtains should be fitted on curtain poles of a larger diameter. Lighter curtains require thinner poles.
